Automated host verification

It must be easy for hosts to check if they are compatible and verify they are still compatable after changes have been made to their server. It would be good if we could automate this and have emails sent to us/them when they are no longer compatable or need to upgrade.

I'm guessing this script would be pretty easy to make. Please add feature suggestions or sample code.

Maybe the host would provide a URL to which the certification script is located. This script would then be sent one or more SOAP/XML/POST requests. These requests would contain module names and versions that need to be present, the script would load the module and report theversion. If all modules are present then the host would pass. This would be performed on a regular basis (monthly?) with the result being stored in a database. Then the host would include an image link to the certification site that would display the logo and the last check date, or not if the last check did not suceed.
